The concert I said I was going to... I as usual din't bother to get too much information before the show. Living without a newspaper or televisions does have its pitfalls.
Ananta Opus was part of Alliance Francaise's week-long celebration. It was a world premiere of a unique musical experiment combining electronic sounds, with a french orchestra and an Indian sarod recital performed by masestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons. The show was composed by Pierre Thilloy, whose name i hadn't heard about until Saturday!!
Needless to say, the concert was fabulous and I have now seen most of the best Indian classical musicians perform live at least once.
For a change the audience also behaved civil. Phones did not ring, children did not bawl, people did not talk to each other and not more than 5 people left the hall till the concert was totally over, after the artistes were all honored and presented with mementoes.
